Um, skinny jeans are not going to go away, because us general folk like them. Its great you found a new favorite, but most people are just discoverng how easy skinny jeans are to wear and what a huge variety of shapes look great in them. Cheers to individuality where wide and skinny legs can get along!

Those are not good. Too much like bootcut. I bought a pair of wide legs from Urban outfittes, and they are equally wide at top as at the bottom. Don't buy any of those because thats not really the trend and you can get a way beyter price!

Skinny jeans can remain a fad and never come back ever! Here's hoping Trouser jeans become a mainstay item in the varied jean styles out there. I love boot cut jeans but the trouser jeans I recently purchased make me look taller and leaner than the Gap's long and lean by far!!! How do us general folk tell fashion designers that this is a style to keep forever?

I've got a pair of guess wide leg jeans that sit low on the hip bones and are a bit long so you can pair heals with it. I'm pretty narrow through the shoulders and hips, so if paired with a fitted tank these jeans can help give shape without adding weight!

Wide leg pants are for people with a pear-shaped torso to balance out. The flare at the bottom really does help flatter that figure. It's not necessarily about how skinny your legs are as another poster suggested. It's about the proportions.

Also, you really don't want a high waist if you have a big arse to go with the pear shape. You want something that will sit low on the waist, preferably with a wide band to help cut the bulk down a bit.

Last but not least, this look will swallow you whole if you don't wear some kind of heel with it. It is not for the flat-footed, but it can be a good way for a short person to borrow some height. Let the hem line just skim the floor and put on a nice wedge-shaped heel if you have thicker ankles. It will look nice then.

I don't really like the wide leg jeans trend when I look at it I think of scooby doo's
mystery van and tie dye and a fashion mishaps waiting to happen across our nation. Skinnies were classy and timeless and I think they look good on anybody they remind me of the classic audrey hepburn. Maybe if I see more and more people wear the wide leg trend ill probably wear it, I truly think that people are going to ditch this horrid trend and go back to the skinnies!!!!

[...] April 5th, 2007 Q: I have not yet caved into the skinny jeans trend. I’m short, so my legs are not long, and I fear that hemming the [jeans] would cut off the taper. Any suggestions?A: Skinny jeans can look good on short people. However, the shorter you are, the leaner your legs must be to pull off the look successfully. If you do decide to go with the skinny jeans, you do run the risk of cutting off the taper if you hem the pants. Good instincts. Should you hem the pants, we recommend taking them to a good tailor who can recreate the taper of the pants. But the skinny jeans aren’t the only hot pants style out there. We’re rather fond of Wide Trouser Jeans, as they’re as stylish as they are figure flattering. Pictured: BDG 5 Pocket Capri Skinny Jean Dark Blue | $49 at Urban Outfitters.Style question? We’ve got answers. E-mail us at tips at omiru dot com, or leave us a comment with your question.
[...] We asked: Are Wide Trouser Jeans In or Out?You said: Three cheers for Wide Trouser Jeans! A 75% majority are all for this looser, more figure flattering style.Omiru’s take: We had a hunch that Wide Trouser Jeans were ready to steal the spotlight away from the skinny jeans popularized by leggy actresses and models. Given their flattering silhouette and forgiving shape, we’re celebrating their rise in popularity. Style tip? We’d recommend balancing these jeans with more form-fitting tops to achieve the classic small-over-big silhouette.Next Question: Our friends at Couture in the City recently ran an article about shiny celebrity style mishaps. Says Wendy O. of Couture in the City, "The tinsel is off of the tree and the ball has long dropped in Times Square…so lets put away the shiny stuff until next holiday season." But what do You think? Tell us, is Metallic Fashion In, or is it Out? Cast your vote on the sidebar!Pictured: Wardrobe Wide Leg Stretch Denim Pants | $68 at Nordstrom.
