Q&A: How to Wear a Shirtdress

March 22nd, 2007

Q:  I’m thinking of buying a shirtdress, since they seem to be more flattering than other styles out there.  But I’m not sure how versatile they are.  How do I put together an outfit with a shirtdress?

Greek Wool ShirtdressOmiru is pleased to bring you the answer to this style question from Christina Kornilakis and Sarah Gregory, the designers behind the vintage-inspired clothing line Sweet Tater.

A:  The fun about shirtdresses is that you can dress them up or dress them down.

For a sexy going out look, add a pair of tights and ankle boots and you’re ready to go.  And if you want a more casual laid back look, you can throw on a pair of jeans and some flat boots.

Sometimes simple is better.  You could just wear a shirtdress as is with some sexy heels.

Sweet Tater has some great stuff. I love the neckline on their Greek Wool Shirtdress. And their Holiday Shift Dress is a knockout. Both on sale- even better!

I have a very lovely shirt dress I barely ever wear since I bought it around 5 years ago. Just this morning when I tried to decide what to wear for family lunch, I saw the dress. FYI, the dress is in red colour ( is red in or out now?) and I wore it with a beutifully embelished sandals ( I live in Jakarta, Indonesia, where it is summer all the time so sandals are always acceptable!). Just that, and voila, the simplicity worked! hopefully this could be inspiring..!

Very inspiring, Andhina…and I think red is always in. It’s one of those classic colors that never really goes out of style. Thanks for sharing!
