I get my skinny ties from this site: http://www.CenterYourStyle.com

I get a lot of compliments on them. No matter what kind of tie I wear, I always prefer to use a windsor or double windsor knot as opposed to the four in hand.

Tomomi over at Camden Lock in Los Angeles has a great selection of mix-and-match skinny ties, shirts, and jackets. The ties are slightly pricier than those listed above, but the transition between her separates is flawless and modern. Her store is great - she has been there for over ten years and has recieved a lot of press since Green Day chose her look for American Idiot. My boyfriend swears by Tomomi's work!

Skinny ties and other goodies are avaiable at her online storefront: http://www.myspace.com/camdenlockclothing

While we're used to seeing the skinny tie with a shirt with a regular sized collar, we don't see anything wrong with pairing it with a wing tip shirt. Our style tip for you--wear it with confidence. Bravo to you, J, for your creativity!

Great point, Robyn. Thrift stores will likely be a better bet than mall type stores.
