After they're dropped in liquid those facets will quickly disappear, and most of your guests won't even notice the ice anyway. My suggestion is, don't bother. If you really want fun shapes of ice, the stars, crosses, hearts, etc. ice trays at IKEA are cheaper, make more cubes and they are more obviously different shapes from regular ice cubes.
