How to Wear Summer Neutrals with Pizazz

June 13th, 2008

Feeling the love for this set?  Here’s more information about it.

Summer Neutrals don’t have to be boring.  You can embrace the breezy summer weather with whites and beiges without losing pizazz.  Here’s how:

Start with a simple base.  What could be simpler than a button-down camp shirt and a pair of bermuda shorts?

Vary patterns and textures. The bermuda shorts are plaid, the hobo bag sports a subtle woven texture, and the espadrilles feature eyelet detailing.

Add a dollop of shine.
Layer in shine sparingly with simple accessories, like this classic ring or the aviator sunglasses.

I usually throw in some bright coloured jewelry! Hahaha!
I don’t wear neutrals often though, I prefer colours, or black =)

Neutrals look so cool and fresh- they always remind me of Martha’s Vineyard, Nantucket, or a southern veranda. Once again, Target is spot-on with their handbag. It would easily “summer up” a pair of basic black slacks.

Ming-Ming–brightly colored jewelry would definitely fit with this outfit. While brightly colored jewelry is welcome, it’s not a necessity to create a stunning outfit :)

Mimi – Ooh, now I’m thinking Martha’s Vineyeard too :) I’m loving this Target handbag as well. Clean lines, good texture, and a great price!
