A shrunken vest tends to make your legs look longer, while the oversized, hip-length vest tends to make your legs (and you) look shorter. I'm more of a fan of the hip length cardigan cinched with a skinny belt... I'd rather that than the oversized vest... but maybe my preference is "so last year"?
