I love the bubble dress but I just can't find it. Who carries these dresses ? Where can I find them--what stores?

I baught one in red...at Benetton. It was so cheep, I thought I'll try it. The top part has thing straps and a rose of the same red color.

I went in thinking that there is no way in earth that this thing will look good on me ( I have curves and ...I am large at the hipps).

An other customer who was there, so me in it! She went crazy: You absolutely have to buy it! I did feel very confrutable...and I was extreemly suprised.

When I buy close that fit me well I always ask my self why they fit?
In this case, the dress had a slight bubble on the hem and the fabric was very light. If it was a more heavy fabric...I am a 100% sure that I would have left it right there.

So I guess, the shpe of the dress is not the only thing that counts, the fabric too!

oooh, I have to disagree. I recently bought a long bubble mini-dress/tunic and I just love it! I wear it with leggings and darling flats, and I actually find it to be slimming and adorable and I am only 5 ft 6.

Sorry, Trisha!

I love your style advice, and know you are trying to make a fad workable but the proportions of bubble dresses by their very nature are distorted.

I've seen a LOT of pictures with a million styles of bubble dresses and I have the same reaction EVERY time:. top down (I need a v-neck, so I always start there) pretty neckline, nice color, nice detailing, hips and hemline -- what the heck did they do that for?! It either looks like a home-ec project gone wrong or like she has a pulled thread tugging at the hem.

Never seen it look good on any model, so certainly not in real life! :-)

I'd be willing to try on a few bubble dresses to see how I look. I don't think I'd invest more than $50 because the trend might be short-lived but it could be a fun holiday party style

Anna and Janie,

Bubble hem dresses are hard to wear, but they can work. Really!

Try a ever-so-slight bubble on the hem, and reign in the volume with a belt. Makes all the difference :)

Cheers,
Trisha

I think these dresses look dreadful on EVERYONE -- tall pencil-thin models, wide hips, wide shoulders, thin waist, thick waist. It doesn't matter. They distort a woman's figure and looks like a clay sculpture by a second grader! The rest of the outfit is adorable, but let that hem down!
