Fall 2009 Fashion Week Trend: Teal

Teal at Carolina Herrera, Lacoste, and Lela Rose.

Style tip?  Want a color that’s not so basic?  Try teal, a sophisticated mix of blue and green.  As befits its roots, pair teal with blues and greens for best effect.  We’re especially loving the navy and teal combo, as seen at Lacoste.

What do you think?  Would you wear teal?  Share your thoughts in the comments!

I’m glad this color trend will be sticking around – I bought a lot of teal this past winter.

I wear Teal a lot. It’s one of my favourite colours to wear. I think, out of the colors for Fall, this one is the best.

    Effect…not efect.

Hey, J.Jill had massive amounts of teal in its 08 fall collection. Ready-to-wear ahead of couture?

That Carolina Herrera blazer is drool worthy! Great color. :)

I love blues with greens but unfortunately don’t own alot of teal pieces. I like how all the looks are very tonal, I wouldn’t have thought to put the look together that way. Not sure if I could pull that look off though. Hm, might have to try :)

Love, love, love teal! What a great color that looks good on everyone (just like aubergine) and perfect for fall & winter!

This post has inspired me to combine my teal top with navy tulip skirt and brighten the combo with some silver jewelry. Thanks!

Love teal! Good idea to pair it with navy–I should remember that for next fall.

Loving the teal trend. I’ll also have to try combining teal with heather gray or navy like these looks show. It’s something I would never have considered.

Sounds like a lovely combo, Chloe. Silver works great with cool colors like teal and navy :)

No way! Teal is my all-time favourite colour & I wear it all the time. Metallics, like silver & gold go really nice with it. I look forward to the influx of teal items in store.

Teal is the best color ever, it is elegant and just plain pretty.

I love it and I’m glad it is in style. Although I’d wear it no matter if it was in or not.

Me too. I wear it regardless of whether it’s in or out. It’s such a beautiful color!

I’m so sick of things I love coming into fashion.

I love teal because it goes great with my red hair, pale skin, and blue eyes. It’s also elegant but fun; when I dress for work I wear a lot of teal. Teal also goes well with just about any earth tone (browns included, especially dark browns) but looks best with green, silver, and black.

    I’m quite amazed.
There’s so many comments here about how great people think Teal is. 😀 It really is a great colour.

But it’s three years later now, and I have rarely spotted anyone in teal.
Last time I noticed someone wearing it was in 2010.
    And that was me!
I need to look harder, I think.
