Wow… this is what I have been looking for for many, many years. Thank you, thank you, thank you! And I am doubly please that the capsule has such a casual flair, but is still versatile enough to cover work and leisure - in today’s modern office most men do not wear ties, let alone suits, and it is nice to see some creative solutions to the chinos-and-shirt look.

Pink, green, and purple are definitely fair game (and encouraged!) for Spring. While our capsule wardrobe is more conservative with color, we’ll be more playful with color for accessories.

Great list. Goes well with John’s list of 10 Staples of about a year ago, i.e. his June 2008 Q&A post titled 10 Staples of a Man’s wardrobe. Yeah I still remember that list. Was looking at it again the other day. John’s list of 10 included 2 suits, lace up dress shoes, a tie, and a wool overcoat, so I guess you could say it leaned more workwear. Your update here leans more casual.

Will you do a series of outfits with this capsule wardrobe, like you plan to do with the women’s capsule wardrobe?
