Great tips, Alejandro!

Re: the boots - yes, they're quite steep. As with all of our Polyvore outfits, the idea is to provide inspiration for a look - it's not necessarily a shopping guide. We mix high and low, as we did combining these beautiful handmade and hand-distressed boots with affordable pieces from Forever 21 and American Eagle.

But we don't think that you need to spend a bundle in order to achieve this look. If you hunt around, you can find great brown flat boots at every price point.

I am a huge fan of the site, and of most fashion publications. Still considering myself "young" I find it tough to be young and find the appropriate wardrobe to pull off "professional". My advice is to use the high-low method.

I tend to wear my normal "street clothes" paired up with a more professional or tailored item. Whether it be the shoes, a hat, scarf, even things like socks I find will create a dynamic look.

These are both great ways to do casual-cool, even if you're not aiming for a youthful look. So many people think casual means jeans, a sweatshirt, and sneaks ... it can be so much more, as you've illustrated here!
