The one from F21 is pretty much a dead ringer for a Foley & Corrina City Tote. Considering all the publicity there's been over the struggles Foley & Corrina have had to combat big corporations copying their work, I'm quite disappointed you would recommend it to your readers.

Also, bags made of PVC and other artificial materials are bad for the environment. Much better to either buy vintage or source items from smaller manufacturers/ designers where you aren't paying a premium for a brand name -- or, as another reader suggested, scour the online sample sales for a deal.

Just my .02.

True - for under $50, you're probably not getting a high quality handbag that's going to last for years to come. But you can get a chic bag that will tote your essentials for a season or two (or three). I use these cheap-chic bags as "beater" bags for my everyday essentials at work. Though they don't last as long as their designer brethren, they do allow me to keep on switching my bags out season after season...and keep my accessories interesting!

hmmmm... i have seen a couple of handbags at f21 that I really like and true, others that look a little "cheap"... but I will say that it IS possible to still get a great bag under $50 (I like to check out Urban Outfitters sale the best... that's just me)

These handbags may look good on your site, but in real life a cheap handbag looks like a cheap handbag. You just can't duplicate real leather, quality hardware and excellent craftsmanship. You're better off buying a good bag on a sample sale site (ideeli, hautelook, ruelala, gilt groupe, etc.).
