I truly dislike striped polos but I could see doing something like this with a brighter colored polo, say, pink or light blue, or even just a plain white one.

Me too. I really love that deep color on the jacket. It’s what inspired the entire outfit.

Good advice, but the “echoing” of the stripes should be done with caution: to mix the same pattern, make sure they’re of dramatically different sizes.
