i disagree with wearing a billowy blouse on top; the fullness of your top half will look ridiculous as the eye travels down the body and the smallest point is at your ankles. It will only make your thighs look huge, and your top half look huger. I suggest a close-fitting shirt/cami layered underneath a fitted sweater or v-neck cardigan, maybe worn with a skinny belt. This way your "muffin top" is hidden while the smallest point of your waistline is accentuated.

I started wearing skinny jeans a few years ago and I still love them. They are perfect for so many occasions and there are so many ways to combine them.

I think the key to skinny jeans is to think of them as LEGGINGS. Never wear anything with skinnies that you wouldn't wear with leggings.

That means opt for a looser top and stay away from chunky shoes which can make your legs look short and stout.

No one wants to look like a little teapot.

I love that outfit! I have my straight-leg jeans on right now, actually. I wear them all the time - they're surprisingly versatile. I definitely like a fuller top or long cardigan with them to hide the muffin top and I usually wear ballet flats or flat sandals since I'm pretty tall, but they look kind of rockin' with black converse too. The jeans also look really cute rolled up into a mid-calf length.

Yup, we tend to get a lot of questions about skinny jeans, so we write about them accordingly. Any other trends that you want to hear about?

Yes! YES! Those of us blessed with curves do far better with straightlegs than actual skinnies.
