I was a skeptic of Forever 21, as well as H&M...however; it is possible to find long lasting pieces from those retailers. Check the material...and try to wear them more highend items. I have shirts from there that I have had for years and no one ever knows they are from there. I appreciate Omiru for showcasing pieces for women that aren't always trying to break the bank. Thanks!

I wasn't aware of any labor issue but would love it you promoted better quality clothing than the fast fashion offered by Forever 21. I shop at Forever 21 but only for costume jewelry and trendy, wear-once-because-it-won't-last-beyond-one-wash type of clothing. I look to Omiru for direction on what to buy for a season or your great answers to fashion dilemas (sp?) so please give us some better retailer options! Thanks

Omiru promotes a lot of Forever 21 garments and I've bought a few. I was a little skeptical of their really low prices and so I did a little homework. I don't know what to conclude at this point, but Forever 21 has been involved in some serious labor disputes for failing to pay their LA workers, which were later settled. This article is a relatively recent starting point (although it's from 2007):

I thought I would post it just to make people aware so they can learn for themselves and make up their own minds. I do not know the current state of the labor conditions but I think it deserves some attention and thought.
