i love chambray paired with black or khaki skinnies. Button it up with a skinny tie and you've go instant mod americana. hehe. There's one from banana republic that has a wonderful finish to it and does not have any cowgirl vibe. I'm a new reader and I really like the design of this site.

I purchased mine about 2 weeks ago; it is similar to the one from JCrew without too much "Western" influence.

I have already worn it for the winter as a top layer for my red/white striped tee, and well as untucked underneath my gray cashmere pullover and a skinny belt. I will be wearing it into the spring unbuttoned with a tank underneath, and white shorts and leather sandals, or even tucked into my black pencil skirt, with black pumps. Anything but western, since I don't dig the whole western vibe either!

I agree with Sally - I like these shirts but I never quite know how to wear them without looking western-ey (or too 90's!). I might try a light colored shirt with dark skinny jeans so that it looks more rockin' than country. I think I would feel boring if I wore them khaki pants although the J. Crew look is nice. I'm curious to see what ideas other readers have!

I have one from AE (slightly different than the one you linked to, no studs) and wear it with my black pencil skirt (tucked in), nude pumps, and gold bangles. Still looking for a black and white graphic bag to pair with it.
I also plan to wear it in the summer over a ruffly tank and printed shorts.

Still not sure how to style this item ... my instinct is to go full-cowgirl, and that often looks costume-y!
