Was gonna say... My go-to summer shoes are sand suede DBs, some Converse Jack Purcells, and Sperries. A guy doesn't need much more than that, truly.

Sperrys are timeless, a classic, especially the Authentic/Original Brown or Blue. I don't so much like any other variety inlcuded those pictured.

As for the rest pictured, none of those are appealing to me. I do own some nice leather J. Crew flip flops but save them for the beach or the pool only. I agree with the comment above that flip flops are too problematic for the city. They make my toes feel awfully vulnerable.

My go-t

Yes, the types of shoe you featured are the summer trend.

But all of them offer no support for your feet and can do some long-term damage.

Flip flops are tiresome in a city. There's just too much dirt and glass to wear them safely. Better to get a huarache.

Sperrys were big in the 1980s and they're still not made for walking on anything but the deck of a boat.

Leave the moccasins for smoking pipes in your morning gown.

Those Sperrys are great, I have the same pair and get a lot of compliments.

Numbers 4 and 5 are pretty hideous, though. Go for a pair of Bass Weejun loafers in burgundy, and maybe some suede bucks -- actually J Crew's bucks are a good value.
