Shopping Guide: Express

July 25th, 2008

Express, which we shop for knits and other basics, has finally opened an online store.  Here’s what we have our eyes on from Express:

Featherweight Dip Dye Tee
Featherweight Dip Dye Tee | $22.50 at Express
A basic tee with some extra personality.  Hooray for Ombre!

Sleeveless Neck-Tie Top
Sleeveless Neck-Tie Top | $39.50 at Express
We love how this knit tie-neck top can bridge casual and business wear.

Volume Sleeve Crop Top
Volume Sleeve Crop Top | $39.50 at Express
This top is the closest we’re getting to the revived peasant top trend.  We promise!

Front Tie Short Sleeve Shirt
Front Tie Short Sleeve Shirt | $49.50 at Express
Tie-neck detailing turns this short sleeve button down into something special.

Plaid Mini Skirt
Plaid Mini Skirt | $59.50 at Express
Preppy meets sexy with this plaid miniskirt.  If your legs are less than perfect (or you want to make the mini a bit more modest), try wearing this skirt with dark colored tights (as shown).

Preppy Denim Jacket
Preppy Denim Jacket | $88 at Express
The nipped in waist, gold buttons, and the cropped sleeves make a chic, preppy statement.

Great stuff. I love the soft ombre t-shirt. Very subtle.
There’s a new term going around that I think Omiru exemplifies with great picks like these
recessionista n. A person who dresses stylishly on a tight budget.

Recessionista – what a great term, Mimi! I hadn’t heard this one yet.

There’s a lot of great and affordable stuff out there…glad to help people dress stylishly during this recession (and beyond)!

I love the front tie sleeve shirt. Im really into tops right now that are this color!
Normally I dont shop at Express but they do have some very nice, sophisticated tops.

Agreed–I’m not normally big on Express (except for their trousers–great for work), but I’m really starting to warm to their current collection.

I wish there was an Express in Canada. I miss it! I would really LOVE to get my hands on that blazer!
