Spring Summer Fashion Formula #6: Mix Green with Brown

Spring Summer Fashion Formula #6
Feeling the love for this set?  Here’s more information about it.

Spring is in the air, and so is Spring Green.  As a color combination, green and brown were born to be together.  Just ask Mother Nature.  Make this natural color combination the centerpiece of your outfit.  Here’s how to get the look:

1.  Start with a gorgeous blouse in spring green.  The bright color will draw attention up towards your face.
2.  Slip on a pair of jeans and a tailored hip-length blazer in a neutral color.
3.  Sling a rich brown bag over your shoulder to complement the beautiful spring green blouse.
4.  Finish off the outfit with a pair of colorful flats.  We’re digging the playful combination of blue and yellow, the two colors surrounding green on the color wheel.

How would you wear green?  Would you pair it with a different color?  Share your style with us in the comments!

Just today I decided to go to the office in a mix of cheerful colours, not pastels nor completely bright, and the key for me was the green sweater.
Mild yellow shirt, petal pink thin belt, slimm-ish jeans, long necklace in similar petal pink and cream, and the top of all was the fresh mint sweater.

Those bright flats really make the outfit shine!

I’ve been wearing olive green lately. It goes well with this season’s cream/khaki/tan/light brown palette.

You paired brown with gray here. I’ve always thought that didn’t go together. Perhaps the other colors in the outfit helped to balance them out.

Nuria – That sounds gorgeous! I love the mix of greens, yellows, and pinks.

Sal – Yes, goes to show how gorgeous accessories really can make the outfit.

M – Olive green looks lovely with your palette of neutrals. Very military chic. Have you tried adding hardware detailing to your outfits, through a handbag or shoes or whatnot?

Tukie – Brown and grey don’t always work together – but they sure can. Even though there are fashion guidelines, they’re just that – guidelines. You can break the “rules” and create anything you want, so long as you can make it work!

I think brown and grey work great together. I wear the combo in winter but I like how you made it seasonal with bright green and yellow.
