Six Sophisticated Skirts Under $20

July 17th, 2009

We were browsing the racks at Forever 21, and we were pleasantly surprised to find a wealth of fabulous skirts that don’t require a personal fortune to enjoy.  The beauty of skirts are that they’re so easy to fit - they don’t require immaculate tailoring in order to look right.  So they’re consistently one of the best bets at cheap chic stores like Forever 21.  Plus, they’re fun and flirty…and perfect for the broiling weather we’ve been seeing.  Here’s our six favorite picks for sophisticated skirts under $20:

Ooo. I’m pretty sure I have an F21 credit. I think one or two of these skirts might be in order!

I bought a similar tribal print skirt at Forever and absolutely love it. I wore it with a cardigan to work (http://www.thinkthrufashion.com/2009/05/inspired-by-michelle-obama-one-strand-of-pearls-6-looks/) and got a bunch of compliments.

Beautiful – thanks for the tip, Sydne!

Ah! Tribal skirt goes with all sorts of tops. I used to pair mine with a black tube and a structured bolero.

And that linen side-pleat skirt is divine.

I had on order the paint stroke skirt while reading this post (great minds think alike). Just want to let you know it’s SHORT. Fourteen inches from the waistband. I am 5′ 1″ tall and like to wear at minimum an eighteen inch skirt. I love the print so much, I plan on pairing it with bicycle shorts a la 80s style.

that’s the problem with most skirts from F21: way, waaaay too short. If they could just add a couple inches! Hopefully their “Love 21” collection will have more added to it soon.

Agreed on the too short skirt comments. I’ve found that while some are normal length (i.e. knee length), others tend to be a tad too short. Or in some cases, way too short.

One potential solution for the too-short-skirts: leggings. Put em to good use :)

The skirts are indeed cute, but worth nothing the very limited size selection at Forever 21. For most Americans reading this, these skirts are not an option. Just sayin.
