Trend Alert: Peaches and Pinks

March 25th, 2010

peaches-and-pink_032410

After months of hard edges, military boots, and black, black, and more black, we have frothy, light as air pastels for spring.  So now that the air is warming up, you can easily trade in your rocker chic blacks for something a bit more feminine.  These springy peaches and pinks come with pretty embellishments - sequins, pleats, ruffles, and gorgeous draping.  But if you’re not ready to give up the hard edge completely, you can always combine the best of both worlds with a studded peach handbag.

Stop it…you’re making me realize how badly I need to update my wardrobe for spring!

Oh dear. This is the EXACT palette of colors that transforms me into a zombie!

I love these colors! But unfortunately with my pale pale skin and dark hair, these colors look awful on me. It took me many years of trial and error to finally throw in the towel and admit that I simply cannot wear pastels.

However, I can tote a beautiful peach-colored purse or rock some pale pink shoes.

I love how you guys mix in high-cost with inexpensive items from F21, this way we have all kinds of choices on what to invest in, short/long-term! Love these colors and definitely have me ready for the spring season.

for people with pale skin tone, tomato puree or amparo blue should contrast well with pale skin and dark hair 😉 And those two fresh looking colors are also in for spring 2010.

Take that, Heidi Klum and the rest of the Project Runway judges! Just last week, PR hopeful Amy Sarabi of Oakland, CA was eliminated from the show for her peach ensemble (which Heidi referred to as ‘an eyesore’) because they failed to realize how hot peach would be. Though it may not have been the best garment of that challenge, it certainly didn’t warrant an elimination… especially since Jay Sario created an ill-fitting, poorly executed tank top and sweatsuit material “harem pant leggings” (I know, was that even possible?).

Beautiful pieces in pastels tones, both soft and feminine, creating looks fresh and very delicate.
